Bob Penland, CLU - Chairman, Founder

Bob Penland is one of the leading executive benefits consultants and has more than 50 years experience in the employee and executive benefits industry. Since founding Pen-Cal in 1959, Bob has been an integral part in the overall direction and management of the firm. With Bob's foundation and guidance, Pen-Cal's marketing philosophies and systems remain on the leading edge of the industry.

Kirk Penland - Chief Executive Officer

Kirk Penland has more than 35 years experience in benefit consulting. Over the last two decades. He has been instrumental in navigating the firm through the constantly changing regulatory environment surrounding retirement benefits. Prior to joining Pen-Cal, he served as assistant general agent/brokerage director at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Terry O'Prey - Chief Operations Officer

Terry O'Prey Sr. has more than 25 years experience in benefit consulting. Since 1990, he has supervised the operations and technology development of the business, helped Pen-Cal to earn its SAS70 certification, and negotiated contracts with financial services and technology partners. Prior to joining Pen-Cal, he served as a corporate officer of Levi Straus Company and chief executive officer of FILA Sportswear North America.

Stephen Schwaderer - Senior Vice President

Steve Schwaderer is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy West Point, and has specialized in the delivery of corporate benefits for more than 20 years. He is responsible for the sales and marketing of Pen-Cal's services and the development of business focusing on strategic alliances with major financial institutions. Prior to joining Pen-Cal, Steve worked in financial services sales, and led the marketing and sales of corporate services at Merrill Lynch.
